The Tenth Annual Black Excellence Awards Ceremony Gala will take place on Monday, November 1, 2010 at the DuSable Museum of African American History, located 740 E. 56th Place in the Illinois Black Legislator Auditorium. The evening will begin with a delectable dinner buffet and reception at 6:00 p.m. The awards ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. This year the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to jazz musician Kelan Phil Cohran. Tickets are $35.00.

Unveiling Ceremony took place on Saturday October 09, 2010 at the empty lot on 3100 W. Washington. The building is the work of American Architect Frank Gentry and a magnificent example of the most ground breaking architecture to have come out of the 20th century.
